Well, considering Calvanists believe in LIMITED atonement as one of the TULIP precepts - did Christ die for a select, pre-ordained group of sinners or did He die for ALL of us? Pre-destination is an obvious issue of contention but clearly flies in the face of free will and is a side-road that some travel all too frequently and extensively - stay the course, focus on Christ, NOT doctrine. It's doctrine and division that's helped Islam virtually CONSUME the planet - Read John 15:5

First off, to answer your question about predestination, Christ did not die for “ALL” Read: Romans 9 and John 17 for starters:

6 "I have manifested Your name to the men (his elect) whom You gave Me out of the world (doesn’t sound like he died for “ALL” here); they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 "Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; 8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me. 9 "I ask on their behalf (elect); I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; ~John 17:6-9 (read the whole chapter for a better context).

Secondly, regarding doctrine, you can not have Christ without Doctrine! For he is the DOCTRINE (WORD)! John 1:1; John 8:31-32

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in my word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." ~John 8:31-32

So I ask you, where does your truth come from? Obviously not from Biblical Doctrine as you have stated “Focus on Christ, NOT Doctrine”. So because of one warped religion such as Islam, we Christ followers must not focus on doctrine. That sounds to me like you look to the world for your religious do’s and don’ts.

Paul said it best in 1 Timothy 4:6-7 6 In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following. 7 But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness;

and also:

3 If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, 4 he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. ~ 1 Timothy 6:3-5

So basically, TO HELL WITH PAUL, LET’S JUST FOCUS ON CHRIST USING OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING! DOCTRINE ISN’T WORTH ANYTHING IF IT DIVIDES, I GUESS JESUS WAS A LUNITIC WHEN HE SAID:

"Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather DIVISION;
for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three. 53 "They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law." ~Luke 12:51-52

The fact is, Christ came to Divide, and you are correct doctrine does divide, and thank God in Heaven it does! And finally Paul warns us in Titus 1:9-11 and 2 Timothy 4:1-5

9 holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict. 10 For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain.

1 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. ~ 2 Timothy 4:1-5

So I ask you anonymous, have your ears been tickled with strange doctrines? How can one judge between strange doctrine and real Christian doctrine w/out realizing the importance of true biblical doctrine?

You say: “Focus on Christ, NOT Doctrine”. Well I ask you to which Christ do you refer to? Because the christ you speak of is non-exsistence without biblical doctrine. I am of the opinion that strange doctrine has crept into your faith, with comments like that. I hope you are just in error and not destined to serve a false, doctrineless Christ!
